World Bank Funding in conjunction with the National Government

Taita Taveta county Government through Tavevo Water and Sewerage Company Limited has today received the first batch of water pipes which will go along in helping to address the perennial water shortage in the county.
This is part of the world bank funding in conjunction with the national government.
Speaking while receiving the consignment at the Water Department head office, CECM Water, Sanitation,Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources Ms. Esther Mwanyumba applauded H.E the Governor’s effort towards the provision of clean water to the county residents.
“These pipes will help us in upgrading and rehabilitating our water projects and is expected to serve over 100,000 households.” said Ms Esther.
Tavevo MD Mr.David N.Ndurya said the project will play a vital role in addressing water challenges to county residents in line with Governor Granton Sambojas manifesto.
“These pipes will help us in upgrading and rehabilitating our water projects,” noted Mr. Ndurya.
CCO Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma added that apart from donor funds,the County Government has in the FY 2020/2021 budget set aside funds to rehabilitate and develop new water projects.
“Through our department budget, we have upcoming projects like Mwamsha and drilling of bore holes across the county.” He said.
