Commissioning and Inspection of Mwashuma Water Supply in Bura Ward

H.E. Governor Granton Samboja has commissioned and inspected the Mwashuma Water Project in Bura Ward.

Governor Samboja noted that he has made true his manifesto that promised to ensure proper water distribution in the County. “ This project further localises the global Sustainable Development Goal SDG 6 at the grassroots level. The SDG is about clean water and sanitation for all,” the County Boss affirmed.

He noted that more than 500 households, translating to a population of over 3,000 people, will be reached through this initiative.

“ This shows how the devolution architecture is working since the grassroots level sets to be reached. 5 villages of Mbelelenyi, Kenya, Vinesenyi, Kwanga and Mwambingu which form Mwashuma will have easier access to clean and safe water,” Governor told the cheerful audience.

The County Executive Committee Member CECM Esther Mwanyumba noted that the scopes of work for the project included the installation of a solar-powered pump, construction of 2 10,000 litre tanks and the rehabilitation of the communal water point.

Meanwhile, Governor said he is going to support youths in the area who will come together to carry out agribusiness.

On development, Governor disbursed Ksh 50,000 towards a women’s kitty to boost table banking activities.

He called on relevant stakeholders to bring a solution to the human-wildlife conflict while reiterating that County residents ought to enjoy a share of revenues that emanate from the National Park.

Governor expressed that the issuance of title deeds is on top of his agenda and fast-tracking being done to ensure residents own this crucial document.

He advised leaders to often meet with the citizenry to enable access to information on essential services.

Area MCA Patel Mung’ambwa stated that he has worked with the incumbent able Governor in development initiatives of education, water, roads and infrastructure.

On the other hand, the County Boss offered sponsorship to a pupil who scored 410 marks out of a possible 500 in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education KCPE exams.

The financial aid covers the beneficiary’s four-year secondary education, purchase of textbooks and uniform sets.
